Currently, we are hiring to fill the below positions:

 

I. EDITOR

Globe Media Asia is seeking a passionate and experienced Editor to work with the Editor-in-Chief in overseeing the company’s print and online products and collaborate with the marketing and sales departments to expand readership and increase revenue.

Core duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure editorial quality of Globe Media Asia (GMA) and all its products including websites and social media
  • Further expand relevance of our content by helping to identify topics and stories that are of interest to our readers and target market
  • Manage editorial work flows and editorial plans and ensure deadlines and editorial planning are met and in line
  • Research, write and edit articles for all GMA publications, with a particular focus on Southeast Asia Globe magazine
  • Support of all other company departments in content production
  • Represent the company regularly at local and regional networking events and support business development
  • Promote the company, its publications and relevant articles via personal social media channels
  • Contribute to increasing efficiency, outreach and profitability of the company

Skills:

  • Native or fluent English speaker
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, adaptable for everything from online current events coverage to magazine features
  • An enquiring mind; journalistic integrity and instinct
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills to work effectively with writers, designers and webmasters and to build rapport with sources and partners
  • Outstanding organisational skills, great attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines

Experience and qualifications:

  • At least three years’ experience as a professional journalist
  • Familiarity with global media trends
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field

You will typically work Monday to Friday. However, you are expected to dedicate the extra hours needed to ensure the company’s goals are met.

II. ONLINE EDITOR

We are looking for a driven and highly organised online editor to join our vibrant international team.

Core duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily content creation and publication for our websites and social media accounts
  • Write and edit daily news stories
  • Partner on projects with all members of our newsroom, including reporters, editors, and sales and marketing executives
  • Identify problem areas and create solutions to enhance user experience and grow readership
  • Develop and implement new online products

Skills:

  • Native or fluent English speaker
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • An enquiring mind; journalistic integrity and instinct
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with writers, designers and webmasters and to build rapport with sources
  • Outstanding organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Basic understanding of SEO
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with writers, designers and webmasters

Experience and qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year’s online journalism experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.

III. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

Globe Media Asia is looking for a success-oriented Chinese and/or Khmer-speaking Business Development Executive.

The Business Development Executive will work closely together with the Business Development Manager, the management and the editorial team to identify new sources of revenue and further develop existing revenue sources for the company. Overall, the position is sales oriented with an additional focus lies on streamlining and modernising internal processes.

  • Implement business development strategies

  • Fluent in English & Chinese or English & Khmer

Experience and qualifications:

  • Previous experience in business development or sales is preferred
  • Knowledge of CRM applications
  • Understanding of the Cambodian market or able to learn fast
  • A degree in business preferable, but not essential

IV. SALES EXECUTIVE

We are looking for a success-oriented Chinese and/or Khmer-speaking Sales Executive to define and implement sales strategies, generate sales leads, sell advertising for our publications and special projects, and increase revenue opportunities.

The Sales Executive will work together with the Business Development Manager and the senior management to generate revenue for the company’s publications, extending to both our print and online channels, which we are looking to take to the next level.

Core duties and responsibilities:

  • Implement sales and pricing strategies
  • Contact local decision makers and maintain close relationships
  • Sell advertising for all media (on- and offline)
  • Support the company’s Business Development Manager
  • Achieve and exceed set sales targets
  • Attend business and social events on behalf of the company
  • Increase client outreach
  • Maintain client and contact database
  • Support the development of new company projects
  • Support and update local distribution networks

Skills:

  • Good organisation and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Confident, with a persuasive manner
  • Hungry for success and sales results
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Must be able to balance a variety of responsibilities and handle many clients simultaneously, efficiently and accurately
  • Familiarity working with a CRM database

V. EDITORIAL INTERNSHIPS

We have internships starting from six months, although individual circumstances will be considered. Ideally, you have a degree and/or experience in journalism/media/design and are fluent in English in speaking and writing.
